Chainsaw Operator – Casual (3-4 people)
PURPOSE
First Nations Emergency Services Society (FNESS) will assess all on-reserve houses for safety in the case of a wildfire. Their assessments will guide this role to clean and maintain the housing surroundings for fire protection.
DUTIES
We are currently seeking experienced individuals who want to join our team for a rewarding career in utility vegetation management.
- On-the-job training from the ground up to the treetops would be cleaned up when identified by FNESS.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred experience in climbing, chipper, handheld tools, power tools, pruners, and other specialized tools.
- Standard First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and Electrical Awareness training.
- Chainsaw Safety, Bucking, and Felling near Powerlines or equivalent training.
- Able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Own transportation to a common meeting area (an asset).
