About the Role
Ulkatcho First Nation is seeking a dedicated and respectful Community Security Guard to help maintain safety and well-being in the Anahim Lake area. The successful candidate will patrol community lands, buildings, and surrounding areas, acting as a visible and trusted presence for community members. This role requires someone who takes pride in serving their community and understands the importance of cultural sensitivity and respect.
Responsibilities
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols around Anahim Lake community lands, facilities, and surrounding areas.
• Monitor and control access to community buildings and premises.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
• Assist community members and visitors with courtesy and respect.
• Document and report daily activities, incidents, and irregularities such as property damage, unauthorized access, or unusual occurrences.
• Liaise with local RCMP and emergency services when required.
• Uphold and comply with Ulkatcho First Nation policies and community guidelines.
Requirements
• Valid Security Certification (Basic or Advanced), or willingness to obtain prior to start.
• Previous experience as a security officer or in a related role is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of public safety and community security practices.
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with community members.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Physical ability to patrol on foot and by vehicle for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Ulkatcho First Nation culture and values is strongly preferred.
