Ulkatcho Natural Resource Assistant

A Ulkatcho Natural Resource Assistant, supports the natural resource department with boots-on the ground work, whether that be, assisting with research projects, assisting with community engagement, assisting the referral department and other duties as it relates to the health and safety of the Ulkatcho First Nation Traditional Territory.

Ulkatcho Natural Resource Assistant Job Responsibilities:

·         Provide support to staff and management, including handling correspondence, preparing documents, and scheduling meetings.

·         Conducting natural area assessments with Ulkatcho Research Lead, consultants or Guardians

·         Removing invasive species

·         Marking boundaries

·         Monitoring rare and federally endangered species

·         Assisting in public educational programs

·         Assisting with natural resource management plans

·         Conducting data entry and research

·         Translating Natural Resource messages at community and household level

·         Support Referral Manager with consultation and engagement

·         Other duties as needed.

Work Hours and Benefits:

 Permanent full-time 37.5 hours per week

Some evenings and weekends as field time can be unpredictable

Wage:

$21/hour

Office Administrator Qualifications and Skills:

·         Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Physically fit and have the ability to work in challenging weather and terrain conditions.

·         Possess excellent multitasking, planning, and organizational skills.

·         Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

·         Self-motivated team player.

·         Computer skills and aptitude.

Education and Requirements:

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office software
