Role of the Youth Council
The Youth Council is a group of young people and guest members to promote and plan health and wellness activities for the young people of UFN. The Youth Council will provide a voice for youth to advise on what the youth need and will also plan and budget for agreed upon youth activities. Honorarium will be provided to participating Youth Councilors.
Council Roles – Chair and Secretary
Selected by the Youth Council members, the Chair will organize meetings, attend events, and ensure that the budget for activities is in a good state. The Secretary will take meeting minutes and assist the chair with meeting planning. All Youth Councillors will assist with planning and doing the youth activities when they happen. The Chair and Secretary will both manage the budget with supervision of a UFN Health staff member.
Youth Councillor Responsibilities
- Attend meetings regularly,
- Contribute to generating ideas and participate and work at youth events, and
- Help create guiding principles for the council as role models in the community to encourage kindness, honesty, integrity, respect at all times.
