Summary of Position

Reporting to the Emergency Program Coordinator (EPC), the Recovery Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Ulkatcho First Nation (UFN) recovery projects. The Recovery Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of recovery projects and initiatives, stemming from 2017 natural disasters, as well as aligning recovery preparedness with emergency management plan.  

Task Description

As a member of the Emergency Management Services team, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·             Coordinates recovery meetings and/or recovery tables with relevant partners including internal Band departments, provincial and federal governments, FNESS, FNHA and NGO’s.

·             Prepares agendas, chairs meetings, and makes recommendations regarding recovery and mitigation.

·             Establishes and maintains updated local resource and contact lists and keeps local stakeholders engaged.

·             Collaborates with Emergency Program staff to develop, maintain and regularly review recovery plans to ensure compliance and preparedness.

·             Provides input to the Emergency Program budget.

·             Participates in grant applications for recovery initiatives.

·             Prioritize community engagement as recovery projects are developed

·             Supports the UFN Communications Coordinator during public forums and meetings to ensure residents informed of emergency recovery efforts. In absence of a communications coordinator the Emergency Program staff will fulfill the communications duties.

·             Processes and submits reports and information to Emergency Program staff and the Regional EOC as required.

·              Other duties as assigned.

 

Ulkatcho Recovery Coordinator

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Recovery Manager, the Recovery Coordinator is responsible for supporting Ulkatcho First Nation (UFN) recovery projects. The Recovery Coordinator is responsible for the project management of various recovery projects and initiatives is stemming from 2017 natural disasters, as well as aligning recovery preparedness with emergency management plan.  

 

Task Description

As a member of the Emergency Management Services team, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·             Participate in recovery meetings and/or recovery tables with relevant partners including internal Band departments, provincial and federal governments, FNESS, FNHA and NGO’s.

·             Prepares agendas, track project progress and circulate meeting summaries.

·             Collaborates with Emergency Program staff as required

·             Provide grant writing support.

·             Engage with UFN members on recovery projects

·              Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

·             Certificate in Emergency Management or equivalent combination of education and experience in emergency management or community development.

·              Demonstrated competency in project management;

·             Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract;

 

Wage: $35 /hour

 

Working Conditions

·             Travel if required

·             Work overtime if required

·             Flexible working conditions will be considered.

Term

-          One-year termed position
